Todd-

>>Why would THQ distribute through Centresoft? <<

Because Centresoft has exclusive deal with sony to disribute Playstation games for sony in UK. From ATVI's web site:

>>In November 1997, Activision acquired Combined Distribution
(Holdings) Limited, the parent company of CentreSoft,
Limited, a leading independent distributor of entertainment
software products in the United Kingdom, and Sony's
exclusive distributor of PlayStation products to the
independent retail channel in that country. CentreSoft
employs approximately 150 people including one of the
largest entertainment software sales and marketing
organizations in the United Kingdom<<

THQ wants their playstation games being sold by the same guy that's selling sony's; and it looks like they must be good.

<<<<<<<<. I could see AKLM buying ATVI, but not THQI. It couldn't afford THQI at $40.>>>>>>>

At this point I think many would be happy with $25.

What a joke..... A joke costing me a lot of money.

Todd, I'm not sure a dilutive acquisition would prevent THQ from making such a move - after all Microprose would have been dilutive and its common knowledge that THQ was interested enough to actually line up a debt offering of some $60M. THQ needs content (MWY's current problem), GameFx needs more to work with in order to shorten its development time and increase its proprietary technology profile. Preferably franchise branded content with multi-platform potential. ATVI could offer that - although I don't see it happening in the near term. Regardless of its dilutive/accretive impact, an ATVI/THQI merger makes the most sense imo - by far. Plenty of PC games for GameFx technology - the cornerstone of THQ's future business model.
