Tenchusatsu,

OT:

I recently purchased a Roland vs-840, which is Roland's lowest-end digital 8-track recorder. It too records at 44.1 KHZ and is an incredible unit when considering how long digital recording has been around. I imagine much of the functionality you are thinking of when conceiving of a laptop as a digital-recording device is contained in these units.

I shudder to think of the incredible possibilities for the average consumer if Roland started slapping Pentiums(I, II, or IIIs) in these devices!

Chris

Ten - Re: " Those Pentium III enhancements can only help make audio recording and processing even more powerful."

Thge MP3 "movement" is catching on fast. If the Pentium III becomes the "in thing for the in crowd", sales volumes of retail Pentium III PCs will be very strong indeed.
