For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. Isa 57:15 I feel the most applicable word in the above verse is "also". With him "also" that is of a contrite and humble spirit. God therefore is saying He is of a contrite and humble spirit. Look it up, "contrite" means a torturing sense of guilt over what one has done. Aghast, does God feel guilty. Is God tortured by guilt. What does God have to feel guilty about. Is God guilty for making mankind.? Is God tortured for making mankind? No not at all . God loves mankind beyond and above any comprehension of love that mankind can grasp. So what are we learning about God in this verse.? Simply this. God identifies with the humble and contrite spirit. God sees the devastating consequences of sin. This is a far flung example but at what point did Monica feel suicidal; and I saw some liberal news media picking up on this, Bill Press, to name a name. When Ken Starr was grilling her over and over. Bill Press therefore blamed Ken Starr for Monica's suicidal tendency at that time. Not me. It was only at that time that Monica was forced to confront her sin that she felt suicidal, depressed, a torturing sense of guilt. The point is that it was only when she was forced to look within was she able to be contrite. But when not forced, who likes to look within. But according to God's word we must look within ourselves and examine ourselves. That to me is the one thing that Monica is incapable of and to me it is the only way she will ever find peace with herself and with God. Isn't it true that the way to salvation is to look within one's self and conclude that holiness can only be obtained in Christ. Lord I pray for Monica Lewenski. Show her Lord that she is no better, no worse, than any other person without Christ. I pray for this nation Lord to look deep within and see the need for redemption, cleansing, and restoration. Revive the humble and contrite spirit Lord, thou lofty one ! Help us Lord to not just cover our guilt and remorse with anti depressants and alcohol but Lord expose and convict us of our guilt , and remorse and get it out in the open where You will nail it to the cross of calvary. Take our remorse and guilt and get rid of it , for Monica and for this nation. I pray and ask in Jesus name............Amen.
