Thanks for reply. I was 99% sure it wasn't taxable for a number of reasons based on logic; if only logic were enough! I might add that I initially was informed by my full service broker that the exchange was not an option now(only at the beginning). I certainly was pleasently surprised to learn on a link from this thread to the contrary, and this was confirmed by a thorough reading of the annual report.
