I do support the right to abuse someone. But if you do abuse, you must be prepared to face the consequences for infringing on another's rights.
There is nothing sure about culture and the effect of attitudes on people. If it were, we'd all be white trash now because of Jerry Springer.

I didn't deny that some people use abortion to offset genetic deficiency, but I don't believe that it is rising to the degree that you seem to imply. I think more people are horrified of that approach. Did you know that more people are turning down the alpha-fetal protein test because they don't want to have to face that decision? My wife and I were surprised when we turned it down (for that reason) that the doctor told us this was the case...

Wow...Mama Bear...you might want to handle this one. Somehow, you are automatically COMMITTED as soon as you're pregnant. Did you know you didn't have a choice?
I'm fairly sure that "commitment" is a result of socialization...women being told the importance of being a "good mother", etc.
As a man, however, I will not push that point. I haven't been there. As such, I don't feel qualified to tell a woman what she SHOULD feel. Also, since I can't carry a baby, I don't see why I should tell a woman what to do about the one she's carrying.
