Maurice!
You still try to spin it like the WCDMA standard is some sort of joke The only reason why it exist is some Ericsson conspiracy where Ericsson has fooled all others to support WCDMA.I have news for you. There are already working WCDMA mobiles at a little bit over 100 grams that works. You can place phonecalls over the air with them and make handover with unsynchronized basestations. So don't worry about WCDMA.In about 2 years when the first systems will be in service there will be both working WCDMA mobiles and systems. If you don't believe me about the +100 gram mobiles I am sure that they will appear officially soon.

"Michael, thanks for your amazingly accurate and quick hunting of the Web
details confirming it was indeed L M Ericcson up to nefarious works in
Mexico." Maurice Wynn

A copy of the news article in question follows.

MEXICO CITY, Oct 31 (Reuters) - Mexico City prosecutors have accused two
former employees of Swedish telecommunications
firm Ericsson , as well as 17 city officials, of corruption in the award
of a contract, newspapers reported on Saturday.

Uno mas Uno newspaper said the city's attorney general's office had
found evidence of ''irregularities'' with regard to its own internal,
$28 million
communications system, adding no tender was held to decide who to buy
the system from in 1996.

Prosecutor Victor Carranca Bouquet told Uno mas Uno and other newspapers
that arrest warrants were issued for the former Ericsson employees and
the
officials from the attorney general's office earlier this week. Awarding
contracts without tenders is a crime in Mexico.

How does this add upp to nefarious works by Ericsson since:
1) It sounds like the violation of a technical detail. (Being involved in an auto accident is also a crime in Mexico.)
2) The accused are former employes of Ericsson.
3) The ex-employees are accused, not convicted.
