You're right it stinks. This latest bit of "news" from Bill really hurt.
The big MS FUD machine is running full force with that news article.

I'll explain it in very simple terms. This is the MS product
development cycle:

MS announces product to be available soon
while (VaporWare and i < 4)
{
Customer is frozen while they await grand MS solution
Wait 6 months
MS announces product to be available soon
FeatureList = FeatureList - 3
i++
}

Eventually, a product is released, usually late and with far fewer
features than originally promised.
But at this point, the customer, who has waited this long, would look
like a doofus if they chose Solution B over the MS solution.
That's just the way it is and the little guy has a tough time
competing against a promise from Bill.

Sorry, just needed to vent a little...
