OrionX and Ausdauer -

Hey, guys, come on! There's quite a bit more than irrational exuberance here. Having lived through $40 and $5, and having never sold a single share, I've walked the walk. Tangible differences I see between this 30-something and the last:

1. Digital cameras were a "what-if" then. Now, they are actually moving off store shelves, dropping in price, becoming more sophisticated, and are therefore more in need of storage capacity.

2. CF, as a standard, has not been eroded one whit, indeed, it has bolstered its presence.

3. The Sony Memory Twig came to the party way too late. Sure, Sony can make and market their own devices that will need this memory chip. And as they do, they'll have owners of all the major camera manufacturers products uniformly ignoring them. A new product that works in my camera is of interest, a new product that means I have to buy a new (and likely inferior) camera is not.

4. Last time we were over $30, you had never, ever, ever heard anyone say the phrase "MP3".

5. Last time we were over $30, you had never heard of a video camera that also took still pictures.

6. Last time we were over $30, dreaming of a CF slot in a Palm Pilot would cause hair to grow on your palms.

7. Last time we were over $30, 8MB CF cards were a big deal. Can you say "exponential"?

8. And, most importantly, last time we were over $30, the good Doctor Eli was trembling in his boots. Today, he is optimistic and beaming.
