(I gotta get Mutt working. I keep hearing such raves about it) So, the issue with running non-graphical mail reader is the keyboard? If Netscrape had keyboard commands, you might use that instead?

I use Pine and Lynx when logged into my shell account, which I do nearly exclusively on my wife's 386sx PC using {Commo} terminal under DOS. I really enjoy using Lynx on the shell account. It's faster (even on a 14.4 modem) and it's not as easy to get distracted and link off into oblivion. I also like having my bookmarks online.

I'm starting to wonder if text based web and mail isn't the direction things are going as we move away from the PC. It's faster, more portable across different types of devices, and overall more powerful.

All of this talk about the coming Desktop (end user) Linux just doesn't sound right. I was surprised to hear Linus pumping Desktop Linux. It seems like a giant step sideways. I would like to see a poll on Slashdot with people's opinions about Windows like 'end user' Linux.
