kha vu, Your post was excellent - especially the part on checking IBD to see if the sector is hot at the moment .(You may recall Jenna scolding me about wanting to get in Net stocks a few weeks ago) She taught me alot with that post - It was time to get out, and I was looking to get in. It is vital that the sector is moving, or our limited trading funds get tied up while we "nurse" these stocks back up. Getting out before the momentum dies is crucial. I've had a experience with that and it has tied up my trading funds while the stocks "nap".

Re: limited funds, that is why I buy 50 and 75 share lots of the most of expensive stocks ($100) like #2 today. We shouldn't feel we can't trade the big guys if we only have $5000 available to trade with that day. 50 shares x $20 is okay with me for a one day hold! If it goes down $5 below my buy I've lost $250. If I buy 500 shares of a $10 stock and it goes down $1, I've lost 2x that $ amount. Since my timing is still not great, -$1 can happen easily. I've actually had all my best trades with expensive stocks with VERY obvious momentum and never more than 100 shares of them.

All new traders should put their watchlist in Clearstation. It is very user friendly and taught me all I know about TA - I knew nothing 3 months ago. And, your instincts are then confirmed when you see other members recommendations when the chart looks good to you. This is how I noticed Watchlist #2 - It is always on my watchlist and the Clearstation chart showed it was oversold in an uptrend and gathering steam. EVERY time I see a stock in the "bullish" section it pops the next day. Great for all of us without sophisticated scanning programs. And the tag and Bag section points out MACD and stochastic bullishness - updated during the day!

I certainly noticed the time stamp on Jenna's post last night - I was working all night last night and could not believe she was still working too. I took an SI coffeebreak at 4:30 am and saw it post.

Jenna, I cannot believe how devoted you are to us and your business! Thank you. (I thought I was the only one who slept 3 hours and jumped right back on the computer). I also have noticed that all of the upgrades I see have been on your watch lists in the days previous. Jenna - Good thing you like working at home and for yourself, or Wall Street would woo you away :)
