Who is Allied Signal?

Based in Morris Township, New Jersey, AlliedSignal Inc. is an advanced technology and manufacturing company serving customers worldwide with aerospace and automotive products, chemicals, fibers, plastics and advanced materials. Its 1997 sales were $14.5 billion.

The company, a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, employs 70,500 people at 300 facilities in 40 countries. Fortune magazine recently named the company to its lists of the "Global Most Admired Companies" and "100 Best Companies To Work For in America."

AlliedSignal Turbocharging Systems is the world's largest manufacturer and supplier of turbochargers for diesel and gasoline-driven passenger cars, commercial vehicles and heavy-duty trucks. Total sales for AlliedSignal Turbocharging Systems is approaching $1 billion annually.

Garrett-brand turbochargers enjoy 51% share of the world market, with projected growth rates of 18% to 20% in the foreseeable future. The largest market is Europe, where turbodiesels vehicles are booming in popularity but strict CAFÉ standards in the U.S. could further ignite the market here.

I'm on pins and needles, Nathan. Mentally, at least, I was ready to write my TRBD investment off. If the stock goes to zero I lose a bet, nothing more. A lot of money, yes, but nothing more. My life will continue as before, only I'll have less money in my account. I don't have all of my eggs in one basket. However, I do have a sizable percentage of my stock account money in this one (approx. 35%). I'm not a purely social issue investor by any means, but for the sake of the environment (and my pocketbook) I hope that TRBD can pull it off. I'm starting to believe that it is going to happen.
Many thanks to those who have kept us posted.
Best,
Papillon
