I think that Float and short interests do matter. As you said, there are still plenty of short-term(such as daily) shorts but the shorts are covering faster and systematically.

Without "major hype", on a daily basis, whenever there are selling pressure(200K shares are all it takes), there have to be ready buyers. The e-day-traders only pile on the stocks that are going up.

If Amzn do have top line weakness and some elephants want to "lighten up" a bit in the next few week, Then it can be ugly for a while.

I let my 900 short shares run for next week. AMZN looked sick the last few days. To me it looks more

AMZN has to close under 120 to be negative...and under 110 to be bearish.
