Nice plug for the Phoenixx TPC but don't forget that other offshoot from Quadrax, Complastik. They have gone in a different direction and they are about to start production of low-cost thermoplastic composites. Whereas the Q's material for shafts cost $20 to $30/lb, Complastik will make graphite tape for $10/lb or less. Glass fiber products should be under $3/lb. I understand they will be concentrating on high volume applications first, maybe a bumper beam or rock shield for an SUV. I don't think golf shafts figure at all in their plans.
