Interesting stuff I found. The mining company newsletter this week had the following teaser <<Friday, March 12: Don't Just Search—Metasearch! You're probably familiar with Yahoo, HotBot, AltaVista, and the other major search engines. Did you know you can search these and many others simultaneously? We'll show you how with some great meta search engines.>> I searched on metasearch to see who else used that engine and I see that Go2net and Dogpile do and they both search the mining company site - a connection there. Obviously they will mention the companies that search THEIR site in the article. So it looks like these two search engines will be highlighted in next weeks newsletter, which will bring it to the masses. I already have everyone I know using Go2net as their homepage and using metacrawler exclusively. I think it is the best search engine on the web and keep minicrawler on my desktop. lib.berkeley.edu
