Marc,

By the way Lars I was looking at the Jack White web site and it looks like you can margin and short a lot of the funds they offer. This even included the 2 beta Profounds, Rydex and similar. Can you imagine margining a 2 beta fund? Actually I was very interested since this opens up a whole new galaxy of hedging opportunities if Bob ever pulls the plug. It looks like Waterhouse owns Jack White now and I wonder how the two compare now that Jack White apparently just opened their web trading site

Waterhouse owns Jack White. Their big move was to combine both RIA areas and call it Waterhouse Institutional I believe. The goal is to compete with Schwab.

I personally think Schwab is in trouble with advisors. Some of my advisor friends are not happy with Schwab right now.

Plus take a look at the Friday WSJ and you can see why. Schwab's ad for using their broker to give advice competes directly with the advisors. It should be interesting to see how all this plays out over time.

I don't think I would have the guts to margin a 2 beta fund. I am a 2 beta Brinkerhead without margin. HA!

I am looking forward to seeing what Mr. Market does this week.
