I can't think of a good book to recommend for the beginner on Gann. Most of my knowledge has been picked up over the years from many sources. The pure Gann books can be difficult to understand. I used to be a non-believer, now I have seen the light. It is a full complex subject. Suggest you look at the support and resistance of Fans, retracement, and cardinal numbers.

Remember Gann and Fibonacci allow predictions therefore they often fail. Other indicators just measure, when an MACD breaks up thru trigger buy, breaks down thru trigger sell. It won't tell you when and how far that will be.
