Penni, Katie and I just read your melancholy tale and I nearly split a gut. Sorry, but I am really looking forward to the day when the kids fledge. I know, when it REALLY HAPPENS I'll be a mess, but right now that day is so far removed that I can say such things and still mean them.

As far as the meat goes, sorry. Had we been around, I would have done it proud, but Katie would have stuck to the salad and baked potato.

I'm single-parenting this weekend; Betty had to go to to San Antonio for some professional meeting. The kids dread these times, because I'm much more strict with them than is their mother.

So you got two more cats? Good move. Our little one is now ill with the same thing that killed her brother, so we are facing the loss of Betty's favorite.

That SeeDub, he's a rascal, eh?

Hey, I have some very interesting news:

My wife, as you know, is a writer. She's been working for years trying to find a good agent (good = able to sell a screenplay). Well, she is still working on it, but she recently found something that is good in the meantime.

There is a producer in Hollywood named Robert Kosberg. He's pretty famous as an "idea man". He likes ideas, he likes to pitch ideas. He has a site set up on the Internet for same. This is right down my alley, I get ideas for movies all the time, and have 3 unfinished screenplays.

Here is the deal: you send him 20 bucks and you get a CD that guides you through what he is looking for. It is well worth the money, IMHO. Then you can submit ideas, (not scripts, just ideas for movies) to him directly over the Internet.

Anyone who is interested in it can see it here: moviepitch.com
