Now that all the bad news is out, its time for some good news...

Boeing to take off with new 737

SEATTLE (CBS.MW) -- Boeing's new 737 jetliner may be what the company needs for its shares to get off the ground. The Seattle Times reports that though the 737 was expensive to produce, revenue for the jet exceeded the costs of its development and construction in the first quarter of this year. The development of the new plane accounted for losses of $1 billion over the past two years, eroding Boeing's (BA) profit. But with that commitment and outlay comes the reward of a product which could show investors the company won't settle for a holding pattern. Assailed by criticisms of largesse and rampant production costs, the new 737's streamlined design and manufacturing process may pay off sooner than expected.
