Gosh, Jay, I didn't expect my misnaming a movie and forgetting how many eggs it was to result in such an emotional outburst! <GGG> Sure was a fun read, though, we need some distractions.

Got a real chuckle out of, "(Keep in mind, I have to live with junk like this, runnin' in my head, All The Time!)" If it were anyone but you, Jay, I'd worry about you going postal on us. <G>

I enjoyed the post, amigo,

jim

Good post Jay,

after i sent that post to Jim S about CHL and i was watching dennis miller rant (what a coincidence you quoted him) it occurred to me that the movie line that most symbolizes pair management (and i use that term hesitatingly) is the oft quoted line from Cool Hand Luke...."What we have here is a failure to communicate!" that you pointed out in your post this morning. it appears we are starting to think alike - a scary prospect!

just kidding Buddy

Jay, that isn't the last line of the movie. It's from a scene out on the chain gang when Luke is
brought back after an escape attempt. Luke is in leg irons and has obviously gone without food or sleep for
days. The old work foreman gets mad and hits him so hard he tumbles down a ravine within view of all of the
other prisoners. The foreman is embarrassed to be seen hitting Luke in this way, and so he addresses all the
other prisoners (and the guards):

"What we have here is ... failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach."

You see, it's not "... a failure to communicate," but simply "... failure to communicate."

But that's the problem with this thread. Attention to detail. It's these finer points about movies that make all
the difference in trading.

FROM Pair web site
"Avidia Launch Sets Precedent
PairGain launched its new Avidia® System in October at the Networld + Interop trade show in Atlanta. A theatre presentation in PairGain's booth demonstrated the features and benefits of the Avidia System to thousands of conference attendees.

"The feedback we received at the show confirmed that PairGain is right on target with the Avidia System," said Ahmet Tuncay, Director of Product Management. "Both service providers and private network owners are searching for cost-effective ways to integrate data and telecommunications networks for the implementation of high-speed, remote access services. The Avidia platform has set a new benchmark."

Currently, the Avidia System is in beta testing at four sites, and shipments are expected to begin in December. "Our beta customers have indicated the Avidia is a robust, reliable system," said Tuncay. "The features they appreciate most are the density, power consumption and the integration capabilities from within a single platform. The Avidia is unique in these areas. "

My questions are, did shipments start in December ??? (i assume december of 98)
2) When are the friggin RBOCs (i assume they are the 4 sites)going to approve avidia and we might get a press release ?????
anything from the avidia camp and pair goes up.
nothing from the pair camp (as usual) and we keep going f--king down.
i'm getting tired of this bs stock, sell the company or make some moves to get the stock price higher.
hk

BTW, article on TUTS on CBS marketwatch mentions pair & their lack of vision, go to yahoo pair board and scroll back a few posts, it is worth reading.

>>I'm gonna rent, "The sound of Music" and "Mary (Friggin') Poppins"

I am partial to "Debbie does Dallas", Jay. Of course, i have no idea what that movie does to the KARMA of PAIR. Just seems to be a
better movie to watch.
