There is a discrepancy between the number of rigs that came off work in the Gulf of mexico this past week.

Offshore Data Services has issued their standard weekly press release saying that 12 rigs came off work. However, in Offshore Data Services weekly newsletter, also issued late Friday, their number show that 8 rigs came off work.

The resulting number of rigs working, 115, is the same in both reports. The difference is in the prior week number. One report shows 123 from the prior week and the other shows 127 from the prior week.

I will call Offshore Data Services on Monday and point out this error.

Whether the drop was 8 or 12, the number of rigs working remain at 115 out of a fleet of 178.
