Yes, that's not much of an exchange, that coats/cdn otc ... seems to me like there's a huge opportunity in this country to set up a completely net-based stock exchange service, right from scratch, with - 1. Full and complete information freely available - i.e. all orders displayed instantly whether they are All or None or Open or whatever, all trades and bid/ask quotes displayed in realtime, with full charts and historical quotes and links to news and sedar filings etc posted on servers with serious capacity. 2. No dealers, no brokers, just customers - the exchange providing share transfers on a fee-for-service basis only, maybe a fifty dollar a month membership fee and a percentage of dollar value traded. 3. No margin, no shorting, no RRSPs et cetera - absolutely basic no-frill exchange service. 4. One listing requirement - the lack of a cease-trade order by a securities commission. In my dreams Stockwatch goes public and then starts up this exchange, right after I get in on the IPO -g- Re gta - i have fond feelings for gta as well as bpf, did really well on both and always think of them as a pair, got lucky and bought both cheap in '95-'96 when it started to look like interest rates were about to come down .... don't really want any interest-sensitives now, haven't owned bank shares for almost a year at this point .... likely will clean them both out. Just horseshoe luck i never had Royal Trust paper, there was a time it looked good ... just like lwn, phv, ybm, liv etc etc -g- Re gre - don't follow it closely but the chart sure looks a lot like wim, where i took my biggest hit ever ... a cheap option on the PoG maybe, but likely one with radical time decay ..... and i wonder if maybe the Gerald Phillips (sp?) bulldozer incident was indicative of management's PR style .... considering where they have property, that's just not the way imho ... i know something of the general area - it's all very well to pay off the caciques, but if you make yourself unpopular among the people you make yourself an attractive sacrifice, useful for gaining political brownie points by public dissection. Re htrn - the whole market cap at .05 is around half a million US, the talent is intact and it's showing a pretty healthy p/e. Seems likely that some interest will develop when the wraps come off the UA deal and new htmp contracts get announced. We didn't get the year-end financials until 20 May last year, it would be nice to see them do better this time around. Though i won't be holding my breath -g- ... but i think i'll try a 4-cent offer on those bozos at the coats next week ... never did pick up enough to trade last time, but i plan to jump right on any signs of interest, I watch it every day now ..... you know, i hold about eighteen times as much Suncor as htrn, but nobody including myself is very interested in talking about su .... we need this speckie stuff, it's the spice to life ... it is in fact Entertainment eh ...... cheers, D.W. ....... marcos
