Do you know where to find stats on the growth of e-commerce ?

Sarmad,

Forrester Research has it for a rediculous fee. I will try locating some research reports today and see if a firm paid Forrester for that information. I sort of have the day off due to being "snowed in" and my store in Meadville is closed. I plan on putting my time into research.

am wondering whether even in the most favorable scenario, Amazon's sales increase
trails internet sales increase ?

This is the fundamental factor that will break the stock price.

Glenn

From Bloomberg: AMZN to expand into France

Amazon.com Seeks Partner in France to Rival BOL, Report Says

Paris, March 6 (Bloomberg) -- Amazon.com Inc., the No. 1
online bookseller, is seeking a partner to help launch its
service in France and rival BOL, the online bookstore of
Germany's Bertelsmann AG, newspaper Liberation reported citing
an executive of closely held Alibabook, a French online
bookstore. Alibabook Director Jean-Manuel Escalas said he has
held talks with Amazon.com although no agreement has been
reached. BOL's arrival in France has put pressure on the U.S.
company to expand here as well, the paper said.

Bertelsmann, the No. 3 media company, started BOL in France
in February with Havas, France's biggest publisher, and is
expanding into the U.K., Spain and the Netherlands.
