Thank you. That's the same way I have been handling them. Just seems that worthless, expired options should offset more than short-term capital gains. Off topic, but I fail to see how anyone can expect the current tax system to work efficently and correctly. The complexity makes it impossible to know whether or not one has complied with the law. How much has the IRS lost because people simply don't have a clue as to what they are trying to tax? A flat tax would probably generate additional revenues just because of it's simplicity. As long as the politicians meddle with special exemptions and targeted taxings we will have this nightmare.
