This news was on GRPV's website. They usually release news to the public a few days later. Should be a great play for Monday or Tuesday. Volume started to increase late on Friday. Once this news is released, I think GRPV will pop back into the .20's and may break out. It looks ready to go again:

Marriage of E-Commerce and Lottery Could Mean Investor Jackpot

San Francisco, CA (March 5, 1999): The marriage of modern technology and strong traditional industries is giving birth to an entirely new generation of businesses. Perhaps the most obvious example is Amazon.Com, a spectacularly successful merging of the internet and the old-fashioned bookstore.

Until recently, however, the incredible promise of electronic commerce had almost completely by-passed the lottery industry. The only way to play the lottery was to visit your local convenience store and buy a ticket. The only way to play in out-of-state lotteries was to have a friend who lived there, or to join a lottery club.

Now, however, Group V, a San Francisco-based telecommunications and internet marketing company (GRPV), and its subsidiary National Pools Corporation (NPC), are changing all that with internet marketing of their popular new HitLoTTo® Club Card. Marketed as "The Phone Card That Can Make You Rich," the HitLoTTo Club Card represents the pairing of two red-hot industries: pre-paid phone cards and state lotteries.

The concept is simple. Buy a HitLoTTo card and get pre-paid long distance time - as you would with any phone card - PLUS free membership in lottery clubs for several state lotteries -- including the much sought-after Powerball drawings. While reselling state lottery tickets is illegal, Group V is able to offer its concept because the lottery play is given away free as an incentive to buy their phone card. Add to this mix the powerful element of internet marketing – giving lottery enthusiasts the ability to play in lotteries previously unavailable to them - and you have a very hot business.

The concept has taken off like a rocket. The HitLoTTo Club Card is currently available in a rapidly increasing number of retail outlets, limited only by how fast Group V can secure distributors to get the cards into stores. The internet side of the business promises to be just as successful, providing lottery fans with everyday convenience, as well as access to state lotteries that would otherwise be nearly impossible to play. Group V recently announced a joint marketing agreement with CPNM /Internet Marketing Consortium to promote the HitLoTTo product through the website.

"Our goal is to drive 80 million hits in potential retail activity to Group V's new commerce website, through CPNM's network of 10 internet retail affiliate programs," said Beryl Wolk, president of CPNM. "Our opening the e-commerce channel through our web marketing will ensure that our distribution keeps up with the demand," said Joseph Monterosso, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Group V. "It also allows lottery players all over the world to play HitLoTTo from the convenience of their computers."

Although the electronic commerce/internet portion of HitLoTTo sales is expected to grow exponentially, the company continues to work the retail channel, aggressively recruiting distributors. The HitLoTTo Club Card is a winning concept for distributors, retailers, and the general public alike.

Group V Corporation (the company is publicly traded under the symbol GRPV) is a diversified telecommunications company specializing in one-plus, toll-free long distance, pre-paid phone card products and lottery play.
