I agree it pays to be cautious. A day trader who trades for a living may need to take a more aggressive stance, but most of us longer term traders here should think about safety, or in other words the risk of the trade. Either way it comes down to risk management. Day traders manage risk differently than longer term traders which manage risk differently still from longer term investors.

Still it also pays to learn as much as one can about the market and how the market can "speak" to a trader who is listening. This is my fascinating area of study that will keep me interested for some time to come. I guess this is part of the reason we are all here posting to this thread.
