5 DOW stocks made new highs Friday and we're only up 5% from last July's high.

I predict a top of 9780, probably Monday and 2% more upside on the Nasdaq. After that, we go back down.

It's only 3% to 10,000--and with the euphoria we have going, it's time for folks with a few hundred dollars left over from their paychecks to open a mutual fund account for the first time, putting the groceries on a credit card. At the very peak of the silver craze there were people going out buying a few silver dollars the way they go to the race track once a year or buy lottery tickets. Of course the funniest one of all is the odd-lot short seller at the bottom.

But 10,000--as you say--,may well be a barrier. I remember that long wait for the Dow to get back to 1,000 after touching it in the late 1960s.

Must have something to do with the millenium. In 1000 a.d. everyone expected the end of the world and in 2,000 we expect to ride with Elijah to heaven on an ascending stock market.

There sure have been some weird visitors to the thread recently. Wandering in like disoriented rabid foxes.
