Maybe they could sell it to CPQ. I heard they are looking for internet acquisitions.

Hi Mohan-san:

I think your analysis of gigabuys is right on the money. Although gigabuys is going to be a huge success, the competition like ONSL which is selling at cost, and other e-commerce companies popping like weed in spring might force gigabuys to operate on a thin margin. This in turn will hurt Dell's historical enviable margin in selling computers.

MCD has repeatedly said that he wants to increase shareholders' returns. The next dividend from Dell is probably in the form of of issuing gigabuys shares to Dell shareholders and keep a portion on its book. With 30,000+ products, soon to reach 40,000 gigabuys will be a force in e-commerce. The stock will be trading at internets P/E. In turn, Dell does not have to combine the operations on its book but as an investment.

Let the seed of gigabuys sprout, the e-commerce generated. I don't see Dell splitting again anytime soon. Three splits already in one year:9-Mar-98 [2:1], 8-Sep-98 [2:1], 8-Mar-99 [2:1]. But I see a dividend in the form of gigabuys shares.
