I don't know the answer, but it would be a good idea to go to the Novell web site and get a few phone numbers. Give them a call on Monday and be sure to let them know that you are with a school district.

You typically buy a package of Network Operating System with a certain number of users. This may have changed since I retired two years ago, but I believe at that time Novell had 5, 10, 25 packs. They also had special pricing for education. You would probably go through a reseller unless you are with a large university that has a contract with Novell. Getting information from Novell used to be like pulling teeth, so you would probably do better to check out a reseller. You may want to look at egghead.com or one of the other online software vendors.
