Maybe I missed it reading all the responses, but what was the supposed "company wide meeting" about? Did it not happen , or was it about the Barron's article? LONG AND HAPPY!

Peter,

I did not hear about the 100,000 per partition, but Novell actually demonstrated NDSv8 at the January Global Partner's Summit and did an LDAP query on the SCADS tree. The tree was made up of 10 servers each with a 15,000,000 object objects which they said made up a 150,000,000 object tree. To me, if I understand correctly, that would mean that each partition had 15,000,000 objects. That logic might be incorrect.

But it was a 150,000,000 object tree and the LDAP queries took only 3-4 seconds.

They definitely have working SCADS (NDSv8) code up and running Peter. That is why I think the beta will be out anytime (if it is not out already to their partenrs).

That is why I think that the production code will likely be out well before the end of 99.
