Mike, it's a question of degree some healthy competition is good but I feel the politicians let it go to far. I have seen great manufacturing cities destroyed by economic violence (g) -not a pretty site. mike

Ampex recording devices used 3/4" reel-to-reel tapes on devices larger than your refrigerator. Hardly a consumer product. VHS, I believe, came from JVC.

Re: buying American - free trade is a two-way street. Until the Japanese understand that, I will spend my money elsewhere whenever possible.
