Paul,

The BorderManager / CPQ issue is pertaining to NOVL's up-coming Caching Appliance product. It will be a solution that combines NOVL's extremely powerful Proxy Caching solution with a hardware mftr's Intel computer. It will not have a keyboard/mouse/monitor. It will simply look like a router "Black-Box" and configured via telnet or some other link (also similar to configuring a router). The best way to summarize the Proxy Cache Appliance is like a Plug-&-Play proxy cache.

Compaq is likely one of the first to develop the hardware for this "Appliance".

As for the future potential of NOVL with Digital-Me, I agree and with the up-coming I-Chain e-commerce solution coming out later, NOVL will clearly be identified as an Internet player!!

Missing amidst the comprehensive Barron's article was any mention of Digital Me. If that product has the potential you've indicated, then its introduction will be icing on this cake. Perhaps we'll hear more at Brainshare '99. Curious, though, that neither Schmidt nor the author opted to "tease" the product. Either it's a long way off, or its under wraps for big marketing debut. Hope it's the latter.
