Re: FRB

"The FRB Chairman is appointed by the President of the United States. He is a political appointee. He is confirmed by the Senate."

As a realist, I can only respond that having "an appointed figurehead" does not constitute being under actual control by the gov't. Does AG REALLY set policy? If so, by what process? I doubt it, although in all fairness I have just started studying ths issue.

"Why do you think the FRB was structured as an INDEPENDENT organization in the 1st place??"

Why should a cabal of banks be given the monopoly rights to issue money in the United States? Why should Americans be FORCED to accept this fiat currency which is not even issued by the American gov't?

"Now you claim that the FRB is the only CB that does not belong to the gov't of the country in which it resides."

Actually, that post was a quote from a post at Gold-Eagle. I do not know about the situation in other countries.

"That gold is in the US and it wouldn't take anything for the gov't to nationalize the FRB and reclaim ownership of that gold."

An interesting concept.....but if so few American citizens are aware that a non-gov't organization has a monopoly over US monetary policy and has taken control of the US gold reserves, no one is going to even make that suggestion.....

"The FRB was created by act of congress. "

I believe that this issue has been fiercely opposed at times throughout history, although not recently.

From Thomas Jefferson:

"A private central bank issuing the public currency is a greater menace to the liberties of the people than a standing army."

"We must not let our leaders load us with perpetual debt."

Here is an interesting quotation from Mayer Rothschild:

"Let me issue and control a nation's money and I care not who writes the laws."

He who controls the purse strings holds the ultimate power....

Let me repeat that I am just starting to learn about this. But what upsets me greatly is that even though the US is supposedly a DEMOCRACY, with "gov't by the people for the people", the most crucial gov't power (that to issue money) is handed over to a private cabal of local and foreign banks. Why? Do you know who these people are? Do you trust them? Do they care about you?

I think that our elected gov't should have control over our monetary destiny......not some shadow cabal......

Just my thoughts...

I have been reading "The Creature from Jekyll Island" by Edward Griffin on this subject.......

It is complicated subject and will certainly take a while to unwind.

Please read the following record of congressional testimony. If this was all conspiracy BS, would these remarks have been debated in congress?
