You can mix graphic cards for multi mon setup under win98, at least in principle.
Currently I have combined an ASUS V3400TNT with a no name S3/Trio64V2 graphic card and it works.
However, when you enable the multi mon mode in Win98 the OPENGL performance goes down significantly (probably the opengl acceleration of the Ausus card is switched off). There is a workaround for this: When I run applications where I need OpenGL I disable multi monitor mode in Win98 and get the full speed. No need to switch the hardware.
Forget about 'Plug and Play' when you are trying to install the ASUS card. The first thing to do is to remove all graphic cards and drivers on your system. Then, you add your ASUS card as the first graphic adapter and after successful installation you add the secondaries.

I have no idea if there will be any conflicts between the V3400TNT and the VIPER cards. There is no guarantee that it works but personally I always managed to mix cards under Win98 for example: various S3/S3, Millennium I / S3 and finally V3400/Trio64V2.

Hope this helps....Dirk

I have a multi-monitor setup with a Matrox G200 AGP
and a Hercules Thriller PCI card. This is working
great in my oc'ed 300A, BH6 setup. If I was to do
it again, however, I would have bought a better
PCI card, since win98 makes this the main vid card.

Another thing I definitely would have spent more
dollars on, is the monitors. Having two 17" is ok,
but two 19" would be way better.
