It's about data compression

While you were away someone said its best to set the modem at the max speed. I always ran at the setting just above 57k for a 56k modem thinking there was nothing to gain by a higher setting. So I switched to the 115k setting and now thats what is being shown as my connect speed, just like zp's friends new modem. I know there are a couple different kinds of speed data being mentioned here lately which I haven't yet sorted out...ie while the cats away, the mice will play<g>
