<< I see you are coming around. The management of Amazon and the analysts want you to believe that Amazon is "investing" in their future. The truth of the matter, as you pointed out, is Amazon is simply losing money. >>

Good morning, Glenn, I realize this was addressed to William, but if I may...

It seems to me this situation and the bull/bear argument is nearly identical to the one that was raging in 1996 and 1997 about AOL.

Aol then: No profits. Huge marketing expenditures. Marketing spending was 40% of revenues!

AOL now: Marketing down to 15% of revenues (still pretty high) and growth still strong, and they "own the space" (for now).

I will go find out what percent of revenues amzn is spending on marketing. Unless someone here can post it and save me some digging. But I don't feel investors should dismiss the notion that marketing spending has at least some investment aspect in a hyper growth, network model like aol's and amzn's.

I do have a long position, (long AOL too :-) ) and all the above IMO.

Brian

Coming around? I'm three Indian nations ahead of you to the Mother Lode. You're still in Philadelphia with an established routine but without a plan, obsessing how the West is dirty and dangerous. :)
