About a year ago I was thinking of buying AOL. Then I listened to an analyst on the radio saying that AOL was really running, but that one should never chase a stock. So I waited, and AOL kept running. That was three splits ago. If I would have bought back then, I would have owned it an adjusted split price of around $15. That taught me a lesson: if it is a quality stock with a good growth rate, it is a good buy at almost any time. So I bought in later when it was also running, and have gotten the advantage of two splits. The only mistake I made was selling AOL last September when the market was tanking. As soon as I sold the market turned around. By the time I got back in I had to pay a lot more.
