I guess it is just this sector, it does not matter weather a company in doing really well, what is it that they say when no one wants to buy a stock, that is the time to jump in, especially when a company like SYNT is doing so well: see these results: Business Summary Syntel, Inc. is a worldwide provider of professional information technology consulting and applications management services to Fortune 1000 companies and Government entities. For the nine months ended 9/98, revenues rose 44% to $128.4 million. Net income (vs. pro forma) increased from $6.4 million to $19.2 million. Results reflect growth in existing engagements, the addition of new IntelliSourcing engagements, the acquisition of consulting base, and higher billing rates and interest income. Recent Earnings Announcement For the 3 months ended 12/31/1998, revenues were 39,562; after tax earnings were 5,420. (preliminary; reported in thousands of dollars) More from Market Guide: Highlights -Performance - Ratio Comparisons Statistics at a Glance -- SYNT Last Updated: Mar 9, 1999 Price and Volume (updated Mar 9, 1999) 52-Week Low $8.813 Recent Price $8.938 52-Week High $39.75 Beta N/A Daily Volume (3-month avg) 127.5K Share-Related Items Market Capitalization $341.4M Shares Outstanding 38.2M Float 5.00M Dividend Information Annual Dividend none Per-Share Data Book Value (mrq) $1.54 Earnings (ttm) $0.63 Sales (ttm) $4.29 Cash (mrq) $1.46 Valuation Ratios Price/Book (mrq) 5.81 Price/Earnings (ttm) 14.23 Price/Sales (ttm) 2.09 Income Statements After-Tax Income (*ttm) $23.0M Sales (ttm) $168.0M Profitability Profit Margin (*ttm) 14% I would think that this is the time to buy SYNT, at a 52 week low, it would be a different story if the above figures were not so darn good, I have given up on trying to figure out the Market. I only wish that I had sold all of this sector and year ago and bought the internet stocks, they for the most part are not making any money yet, but the market does not care, they just keep going up and up....
