Rusty, thanks for the advice.

My eyes are always open to any pitfall along the way. I would even buy Toy's favorites, Novell or IBM. I am actually thinking about getting an IBM Pentium III soon---call it some loyalty to the company but not the stock.

regards.

Rusty,

Trying to reason with MSFT-Cultists like LindyBill and Tech2K serves little purpose if you think you are trying to convince them of anything. They are not technically savvy at all and dont understand the industry that MSFT is in. They are 100% convinced that because MSFT has had such a great ride over the past several years that this will continue for the rest of eternity. To them, MSFT will eventually become the next US government and then eventually take over the entire world. They do not have the ability or comprehension to grasp the reality that the Industry have changed drastically and that many of the success factors that made MSFT powerful in the past have changed or disappeared.

These new dynamics (i.e. Internet, Java, E-commerce, Y2K) combined by proven human nature to bring down anyone that sits too high on their ego, will negatively affect MSFT in the near future.

So while stocks like NOVL and others have adjusted to the new dynamics and are starting to benefits from it, their beloved MSFT stock will doddle around earning a little hear and there.

I cant wait for the end of 1999 to again compare MSFT's stock to that of NOVL. We'll see who was right - just like we saw which was the better stock in 1998.

This in not something the MSFT cultists can believe is possible. MSFT can't be on the last phases of their life cycle which is CASH COW but low INNOVATION stage. MSFT is being left behind in the Internet technology. The MSFT lovers here are not wise to the Industry trends and will not believe the HIGH growth rates of MSFT are ending.

But I love posting agaist them because others that do have a more neutral view of the stock can see them for what they are when they provide such lame responses to our posts. We provide very sound logic and they just respond with name-calling. WHY? Because they dont have an answer.

Toy

"A SUPERIOR OS could be trouble for Mr. Softie. "

If I'm not mistaken, OS/2 was viewed as being a much superior OS v.s. Windows 3.0 when it came out. Like a fool, I actually purchased OS/2, it came with almost 20 floppy disks.

There a so many cases in every industry, not just technology, where the superior product DOES NOT win.

As for Linux's superiority, that has not been proven yet.
