Aps,

My understanding is that product sales is largely viewed as enabling and driving services revenues; for example, folks replacing Oracle w/M$ SQL Server aren't going to be calling Oracle for services (imp/dev/ etc.)

Partnering moves with like the following can only help solidify Oracle's product presence:

Linux maker Red Hat gets new heavyweight backers

Also, if the slowdown in services is so pronounced, why does Oracle have the quantities of job postings at <http://jobs.oracle.com/jol_ext-jolpd-dad/owa/jol_www_pages_pkg.jol_home?p_job_type=P> ?

115 hits - Search for "Engineer" in USA geographical area.
239 hits - Search for "Consultant" in USA geographical area.
406 world wide..
335 hits - Search for "Services" in USA geographical area.
419 hits - Search for "Application" in USA geographical area.

I would agree that comparing position postings over time might be a better indicator.. but this still seems strong even w/~10,000 global consultants. Today's trading pattern also looks very supporting of a continued upward move for the near term (up/consolidate/close higher)

Go Oracle!

Regards,

Orlando
