There is very little doubt that women are attracted to men with money and power, and certainly to men with a great deal of confidence, which generally comes along with money and power. One odd and rather sad thing about the sexual dynamic is that when men are young, often moneyless, powerless, and lacking confidence in their own ability to attract, they often accumulate a string of rejections, real or perceived, that they carry around until later days. By the time they wake up and realize that they can attract, they have already made commitments; this is one of the things that screws up so many marriages. It is very hard for them to resist going out and getting some of what they couldn't get - or didn't believe they could get, which amounts to the same thing - when they were young. It is also worth noting that the men who eventually attain money and power were often geeks and outcasts in high school; 20 years later they are successful professionals, while the kid who was captain of the football team and the object of the cheerleaders affection is selling used cars.

I have often heard that the male sex drive peaks in the late teens, while the female's peaks much later. I have no idea if this is still being said, or if there was ever any evidence to support it, but I always wondered to what extent supply/demand ratios entered into that equation.

Why do you think Paula Jones will dump her husband now? Is it the money? The nose job? The fame? She'll have to pay income tax on the money, what is left after the lawyers take their share, it's not really that much money after that.

What do women want? This reminded me of a dream I had the other night. I dreamed that I was talking to a man who was very angry. He was in his 50's, maybe even 60's, and he was complaining that his wife would not have sex with him and he had paid his housekeeper for oral sex but she wouldn't finish - - his problem was that his penis was too big and it took too long for him to come. I said, "well . . ."
