Brian,
I agree this matter needs to be cleared up - and I hope it can be by email or a phone call to the company. If you are the designated caller from SI, please do. I called a couple of times for the RB board. If you aren't calling let me know and I can tomorrow.

Dave Gore's comment that he had heard from MRPS that CTRL had reversed engineered an earlier version of the MRPS device also gave me pause regarding what patent MRPS in fact does have pending. They say in the pr release that only the "signature sound" methodology is patent-pending (software?).
And if someone can legally reverse engineer one device, why not the current one?

Anyway, I'll stop the speculation on my part for now. It is Sunday afternoon! We hopefully will clear this up re trademarks, patents and comparison products.
What matters I guess is that Ford, GM, et.al. did choose MRPS not CTRL!

Brian/All, re: CTRL or other competitor's, I can't find any of significance.

Again according to Myles, CTRL reverse engineered a first generation MRPS device from the early 1990's, and so they are a long ways behind.

And reverse engineering is NOT easy, so they can't just whip out a copy of the current product. I am not sure how many trademarks they violated or if they are selling their copy cat product at all. Does anyone know some of their clients or if they have ANY?

I will try to get more answers about the competition but the MRPS device is ISO approved, which I'm told is significant.

GUYS HERE'S A POINT: Until I hear of MRPS losing a bid to a competitor, if a real competitor exists, I am not going to worry too much about it.

The mere fact that they also have some huge names "in the bank" who CHOSE THEIR PRODUCT gives them an enormous advantage.

Does ANYONE KNOW OF A VALID COMPETITOR TO MRPS?

AND IF SO, WHAT MAJOR BIDS HAVE THEY TAKEN AWAY FROM MRPS?

/DAVE

Brian,
Re your 2677, at the risk of sounding alarmist, I too want to have the issue clarified as to who is selling what. It has been stated that CTRL is distributing the units for MRPS. Are they?
If so, why hasn't this been made clear to us?
Is CTRL a competitor or a distributor for MRPS?
