Earnings. Thanks Gary for the post. I understand how you got to $1.08. What remains muddled is whether there is any commonly agreed standard upon which the analysts base their valuations of Internet stocks. Add to that the complication of CMGI's "product" being the appreciation in the value of stocks that it holds and it gets even more complicated. I understand that CMGI is positioning itself to partake deeply of the revenue streams that eventually gush out of the Internet, but for now it's earnings come from cashing in appreciated shares of the stocks that it holds. The idea of at least one "liquidity event" per quarter seems a reasonable way of satisfying the "earnings guys" as in the 900k shares of Lycos that were sold as long as such sales don't get in the way of longer term strategies. I'm not sure that the Street as a whole gets it. But as a very long investor I am pleased as punch at the results so far.

here is my dilemma: this week i am receiving the proceeds from the estate of a relative. they're pretty substantial (but not enought to retire on:o)). what are the merits of putting theminto cmgi versus waiting and putting them into critical path? or mixing the two-- assuming i only want to invest them in cmgi or cmgi companies? just looking for input.
