AR, perhaps. I think though that the old school sees their grip on trading and the corresponding commissions slipping away, and is attempting to justify their existence. Yes, there are a lot of folks who are going to be wiped out in the near future (defined as within 5 years at the outside). But online trading, and even some online traders will survive. Some online traders will even prosper, at least those who know how to sell short. Many of the manias that are cited in this thread were accomplished well before the advent of the telephone, much less online. Barb
