Thanks for the great post from the EMC board....i think my fellow Dellheads would enjoy a visit to the EMC board. i paid a visit and found the posts quite informative. There's a little hint of paranoia in the air over there!

re:emc thread/dell/ibm...ibm great products but can't market...

thanks the posting...i see emc similar to dell/ibm...ibm supplies most hard drive components to emc...this alone with the dell deal gives me the belief ibm not interested in the finished product...more lucrative is oem parts supply and service....emc "franchise" name at this point...dell can compete but lagging...i do not discount dell..but believe a few years out...

cpq was my single largest holding...have divested all long positions moving more into dell and emc...why?? believed in the direction ep was leading cpq with the dec buy...but my disappointment is the lack of execution and focus of cpq...when was the last time ep has made any public announcements about cpq direction...

i think when things settle out, gtw, hp, will fall by wayside...the direction is consolidation and mega deals...

the best is yet to come...look past the choppy waves and the oft times seasick feeling...the tranquil sea lies ahead...have the vision to see beyond the clouds at the horizon...the sun is shining...good luck ed a.
