From my experience I would Be VERY careful about those "extended warranties" as some retailers use "scare tactics" to get you to buy those warranties. BIG COMMISSIONS involved here.

Check in your yellow pages and contact an IBM service dept, you may find that if anything goes wrong you can take it there and NOT have to send it away.

Do some checking, don't believe what the sales person tells you.

I use DELL and Compaq computers, service is great and FREE!!!!!


Win98 install on my computers is around the 180MB range. If you are looking at a new computer, it's hard drive is full of extra programs they throw in to sweeten the deal. I usually delete them, as most of the time the extras they give you are crap.
