Nancy,
There once lived a bar in Greenwich Village called "The Lion's Head"...in was inhabited by writers of all ilk; the famous, the infamous and the wanna-be's. Dylan Thomas and Brendan Behan were barred from this hallowed place for they never knew when the time had come to visit the men's room and use the urinal. So it is clear that they did not author this choice bit of literary graffiti:::

" SHAKESPEARE EATS BACON !! "

I never, as a moderate drinker?, had the misdirected chance to visit the Women's room to sample the graffiti there, but the Irish barkeep told me it was raunchy enough to make an Englishman blush...so the quality of literary graffiti in that place goes unreported...
More from the Lion's Head at a future date.....
