Well I did say it was speculation so maybe I'm wrong. We'll see. But what troubles me is that I can't find any authority for this BTB claim in the original article except this quote which is basically "some analysts now believe". Is there a good reason to believe this BTB claim that I somehow missed?

"On the last point, some analysts now believe that AMD may have finally conquered its production demons with its latest offering, the K6-3. The company is expected to produce 400 MHz and 450 MHz processors in volume by the second quarter, and orders for AMD chips keep rolling in. AMD's book-to-bill has held above 1.0, even in the traditionally weak first quarter, indicating that computer manufacturers are confident the company will meet demand for its chips"
