<<Could it be the RBOCS as I've heard because they wish to milk the T-1 E-1 as far as they can? >>

Business customers typically pay between $1k - $2k per month per location for T1/E1. Full scale ADSL is estimated to be around $300 per month per location AND you can get phone and fax through the same phone number. If you were a RBOC, would you be rushing to the door to reduce your revenues by at least 60%?

And dont forget ISDN. Bellatlantic has been so poky about this, partially because of their installed ISDN investment, which hasn't been depreciated. If they offered DSL in Northern Bergen County, for instance, it would absolutely and quickly kill their ISDN investment.

Their (much bragged about) DSL implementation in Northern New Jersey absolutely isn't to the wealthier areas, and also avoids the T1 line commercial areas.

I don't wonder.

Sincerely,
One impatient IP user.
