Success story for buy and hold investing...came into focus with my turbotaxing

100 shares bought AOL in 1993, 50 sold 1994 (missing 6 splits) only six points higher;
the other fifty sold in 1998 (missing 2 splits) @ 138 pre two splits. Basis for shares $3.93 pre 2 splits, basis now $0.98 for stock selling around 87

Would have never been able to buy back in if I had gotten out sooner...my particular approach

voop

PS There's still a few shares left thanks to the splits

They also pay 80% of all the taxes!:8-)

5% paying 70% of all the taxes.......hmmmmmm. Sounds like the wealthy are being punished for being successful. You better sell your AOL before the IRS shows up on YOUR door step with a palm turned upward!!

(Joking sir)
