Phil, once I was in a room where a doctor told this person: "... lots of damage ... I have to remove all ...." The person very much pleaded for this not to be needed (happening). This person only saw a lost to happen, total bad, no good. The doctor replied "... rather than all, then 1/2 and hope for ..." The person hear this and a small smile and ray of hope and goodness appeared on his face, and replied '... yes, please, yes ..." Doctor only removed 1/2 eventho the doctor knew that only 1/2 was necessary right from the start. But the doctor knew that if he told this person from the start that 1/2 would be removed, that this person would want a lesser amount removed. Doctor lied and mislead, but under the conditions present at the time the doctor knew that the person had the ability to prevent removal, leading to more serious conditions from treatment not being performed. I don't think Dave is working us this way, but those on the other sides of the table may be working Dave this way. If Dave agrees to a deal that is less than good, maybe only ok, then one has to ask if Dave can call this tastic a bluff or not. If Dave calls an "ok" settlement a bluff, and it is not, then MGR most likely will only get a "poor" at a later time down the road. A "ok" will not get me the riches I want, but it will let you and other longs get your investment back sooner than later. Call a bluff and be wrong and get a "poor", then either bail out now and get a small fraction, or be here this time next year still waiting. For me, I'll settle for a "ok" and not call a bluff, if that is the way it is presented to Dave. Maybe other long threaders here can input their "vote" as I'am sure Dave can use all input possible. No speak-up now, then later one can say you had a chance to be heard. For me my vote is for # 1 # 1 - glass 1/2 full on a sure bet # 2 - glass either empty or full on a bet and outcome not knowned As for price of gold I thing this place might identify the future by showing possible areas that may change the status quo.
